Situated south of the ranges at 145^o 49" x 38^o 06", the dropzone was sheltered from north winds by the ranges.  On high north-wind days, the staff often claimed that when God created Australia he said "Let there be land for a parachute dropzone at Labertouche".

Described by a visiting British Army Team as the "That Happy Place Downunder".  It was run on the basis that safety and discipline can be compatible with fun.

This is the story of Labertouche Sport Parachute Centre, Labertouche Skydivers, its aircraft and its people.

We do not want to invade anybody's privacy, so if you would like to be excluded from the site just let us know and we will remove you.  On the other hand, if you would like us to publish your Email address or phone number so that old friends can contact you, just give it to us in writing and we will include it.  If you would like to contribute content, that would be welcome too.

If your photograph appears and you would like it removed or replaced by a better likeness, let us know and/or send us a replacement.  In many cases the close-ups have been taken from old group shots or from old magazines and the webmaster still has a lot to learn in this area.  Where possible we will revisit these photos when we are able to use the technology more skilfully.
